So, I’m a little odd…

blah

I’ve had multiple realizations lately that I’m a little bit odd. Sure, sure, you knew that already… but I was possibly in a little bit of denial. So, I guess I’ll share some of the things that have come to mind recently that made me realize my, well…oddness? ;)

- It’s been 10 years since I owned a horse, but I still pine over nice horse trailers. You know the big four-horse ones with the windows that open for the horses to stick their heads out? And has living quarters up front? *sigh* I love ‘em!  I’ll probably always admire them, I guess, even though it looks unlikely that I’ll own another horse any time soon. (I’m very allergic)

- I want a motorcycle. I’ve decided this might be my way of “replacing” having a horse, but whatever it is, I do want one. I’ve never ridden one by myself, just ridden with my dad (who rocks the motorcycle world!) I figure it can’t be hard to learn, and it would be super fun. Maybe I could get a sidecar for the kids? ;)

- I occasionally enjoy watching kids’ shows. I’ve always been a fan of cartoons. I just can’t help myself. And yes, sometimes I laugh out loud at said kids’ shows.

- I enjoy grocery shopping. What I like is making my list, checking sales and coupons, and seeing how much I can get for the lowest amount of money (without compromising quality). I literally get a little thrill when I see the total at the register…and just how LONG my receipt is.

This is just a mild sampling, but I thought I’d share my oddities with all of you… just for the fun of it ;)

8 Months

Yes, this is the face of a troublemaker.

Austin is now 8 months old and he is full of mischief! (as any little boy should be, of course). It's all onward and upward for him these days. Just a couple weeks ago, he mastered crawling forward. He was getting everywhere he wanted to before, but did so by moving backward and sideways. Now that he has the forward motion thing down-pat, we're in trouble. And today he mastered another skill....*drumroll please*.... pulling himself up on furniture (or anything/anyone else that will be still just long enough for him to take advantage). You can tell he desperately wants to walk... and he's not giving up on trying!

As you can see by the picture above, he's into everything now. His favorite place to be is Zack's room... and thankfully, Zack loves him being in there with him. I love to sit in the hall and peek in on them without them knowing it. I constantly have to stifle giggles while watching them!

Austin is doing so well, and you wouldn't ever know about his rough start unless we told you. Speaking of which, he's still doing great in his braces for naps and bedtime. His next check-up with Dr. Dietz in Iowa City is next week - We're hoping for a glowing review!

Here's to new milestones! :)
